Tale of a Fighter

The youngest of nine children, Mark Wahlbergh was born in Boston, Massachusetts and is a famous American actor. (Biography 2012) He was a troubled street gang affiliated teenager during his teenage life and has been charged for attempted murder, pled guilty to assault for knocking a Vietnamese man unconscious with a stick as well as attacking another Vietnamese man causing him to be permanently blind in one eye. (Monte B2012) He had a brief relatively successful music career before starting his acting career in 1993. Since then, he has never looked back and has had a successful career as an actor.

A celebrity who is often in the lime light, Wahlberg is a man who still puts his family first and sets an inspirational example for many young men and women. As a loving husband and father of four kids, he hopes to teach his children to always be grateful and that there are many people out there who are less fortunate than them his examples were to be followed by young career related busy parents, a stressful family situation can be avoided. He is a good role model of a parent and teaches many to always put your family first and set good principles for them to follow.

The actor is also actively involved in charity and in 2001 he established the Mark Wahlberg Foundationfor raising funds and distributing them to various youth enrichment programs. (MarkWahlbergYouthFoundation 2012) He is also served on the Honorary Board of a children charity organization. (Eliot SP 2012) In my opinion, another way that Mark Wahlberg could contribute to society would be to give talks to troubled youths about how it’s never too late to turn a new leaf and show that he is living proof of it.

For a world that now suffers from a lack of value in many societies, a lot of young adults and teenagers alike are looking for someone they can look up to. Who else then, would be better suited for that role than a prominent public figure? Especially one who had a troubled youth and rose up to be a star in the end, it is a story that inspires hope in many of us.

Social network users are everywhere.

Even in the toilet people are still browsing through their social networks while doing their “business”. Examples of social networks that are always used by people nowadays are Facebook, twitter, instagram, keek and etc.

However today, we will be focusing on Facebook.
But why do people choose facebook as their main social network?

The reasons behind it is simple, it helps us connect. It may be to make new friends or to stay close to family. Other than that, we can also share our interest with the others. We can share music, pictures and interesting facts with each other just by a click of a button.
The last reason that I came up with is that Facebook is a place to share our thoughts and information. For an example, many politicians have been using Facebook to inform their voters about their new policies. And we, as the public are able to give our feedback.

As usual, all good things must have a bad side.

People use Facebook without realizing the consequences. When we sign up for an account, we provide our basic information which will then be seen by others.

This provides a way for hackers to get our personal information and may even get hold of our bank accounts! Besides that, whatever we post online can be seen by others.

Which means that, every single photograph taken or status update can viewed by anyone, anywhere at any time. Potential bosses may even find out about all those wild nights you used to have in the past!

Finally, cyber bullying can occur if we are not careful of what we say online.
Our whereabouts can be easily found out if we constantly use the check in function on Facebook. This means that, a stalker can easily find you just by looking at your profile!
They might hack your account just to get our information so that they can use as their own. It can also be conclude as identity theft. Notice how Facebook’s design constantly changes?

Well, so does your privacy settings. Every time Facebook redesigns, your privacy settings change back to default.

Which means everything’s public.

So how do you protect your own account?

Well thats easy. First thing’s first you need to set your account to private so that strangers can’t see your personal information. You can also change password once in awhile to avoid from being hack by somebody, especially after logging in using a public pc.

Last but not least, it is important to not check in to every single place that you go to which means stop giving unimportant information to strangers so that they can’t detect you and find you if they wish too!
